Crubo / Crubos
Well-built creatures of a savage and terrifying appearance. They possess apelike features, long flat claws as sharp as knives, jaws full of teeth and beastlike expressions. Their heads are crowned by a dense tuft of hair which goes down their backs. The Crubos are a recurring theme in legends of terror, due to their ruthless carnivorous nature.
Solitary in nature, there are known Crubos that prowl through scattered forests and steppes of the great palanques. Although they live a savage hunter's life, the most surprising aspect of the race is their undeniable intelligence. Gifted with speech and reason, there are Crubos who have been known to adopt the use of clothing and civilized methods for resolving matters in large cities, before the astonishment of their citizens.
Even more unsettling, legend has it that great cities of antiquity were attacked by hordes of Crubos who organized themselves like highly coordinated armies, disbanding just a few days after a devastating attack. It has been deduced that in spite of the reasoning that differentiates them from animals, a wild instinct always calls to them with an inevitable force.
